Creamy surprise

Just come back from a meeting at a "public funding agency". I go there every month or so, and sit in a big board room saying nothing and taking notes. The meetings always go round and round in circles, always about how there's no training opportunities in the particular sector we're involved in, and how there's no money to pay for any training, or training this or training that.
I only go for the food. Most of the time it's crap, but sometimes they surprise me. Today, they had the usual cheese and sweetcorn sandwiches (wtf?), but also some kind of deli-wrap. I didn't have one, cos i was saving space for the sweet option - half a huge scone covered in cream. It almost didn't survive being wrapped in a napkin and carried back to the office. It didn't survive the office.
